Founder and Chief Executive Officer Damian Knowles (ACA)

Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), 14 years business experience based out of London. First 6 years working at Moore Stephens Chartered Accountants initially in Enfield (North London), subsequently working at the city office at St Paul’s. All audit experience gained working with small and medium sized clients including: independent retailers, IT companies, manufacturing clients and start-up businesses. Twice seconded to clients in financial difficulty as financial controller – experienced first hand, the issues facing small and medium sized businesses.

Joined Price Waterhouse (PW) in 1996, later merged with Coopers Lybrand to become PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Initially working in the SUN accounts implementation team, gained 3 years general ledger systems implementation experience using SUN accounts. Solutions developed to support finance functions with 1-10 people. Implemented systems in Spain, Ireland, Poland, Kazakhstan and South Africa.

Transferred to the newly formed Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) department in 1998. Seconded to the Rotterdam finance and accounting shared service centre to set–up and run the accounting function. Two years working as finance & accounting process expert involved in the development of outsourced shared service centre solutions for very large companies (ie. Companies with in excess of 4,500 accounting staff). Responsible for creating and running the management accounting function for the entire BPO business at PwC. Has a detailed knowledge of all aspect of outsourcing finance and accounting.

Damian left PwC in June 2003 to start Virtualbpo Limited.
